Right now, your main thoughts are probably not about your upcoming ECG classes.  This is a time of holidays, friends, family, and leisure - time for fun!   If you work in an academic setting, you might even have a nice, long break right now.  Enjoy!  We are much better teachers if we are happy, relaxed and upbeat. (Not always easy to accomplish these days.)
I am a paramedic / RN, who works primarily as an RN and EMS / ECG instructor.  My husband, Ray, is a firefighter / paramedic who works as a Training Chief for an urban fire department.  People have actually asked us if we sit around and talk about ECG all the time!   While I will admit to showing him really cool ECGs, and also telling him about my most interesting events at work, we have lots more going on in our lives.
For one thing, we have a beautiful pony named Tommy, who is a wonderful carriage pony. We enjoy long drives in the country with Tommy, and occasionally compete with him in horse shows.  On our drives, we enjoy seeing wildlife, picking wild grapes to make jelly, and just being together and talking without the constant hum of the city in our ears.
We also enjoy beekeeping, which is a relatively new hobby.  It's really fun - like an ant farm for adults!  It's amazing to discover the bees' culture and watch them go about their very structured lives.
Ray is an accomplished artist who sculpts mostly firefighter-related art by welding cut nails. His sculpture, Brotherhood in Mourning, a tribute to the lives lost on 9-11, is permanently displayed in Boynton Beach Florida Fire Rescue dept.   Our daughter, Alyssa Bean, is a wonderful fine artist who created the heart painting on this page.  She does beautiful paintings in several styles, and amazing photo-realism with pencil and pastel.
What are your hobbies, and how do you refresh and renew?  I would love to get to know you ECG Gurus out there!  Please comment below and let me know who you are.
Have a Very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Healthy New Year!
