I was stumbling around on Stumbleupon.com, when I ran across this, and had to share.  If you haven't seen the PBS series, The Mysterious Human Heart, you should go have a look at the website they created for us.  There are three episodes of the program, featuring human stories, beautiful animations, and excellent explanations of modern science for the beginning student or lay person.
Episode One features heart failure and discusses ventricular assist devices and transplant.  Episode Two is about the electrical system, arrythmias, AEDs, and ICDs.  Episode Three is all about M.I., with good commentary on therapies: lifestyle, medical, and surgical.   In addition, there is a tour of the heart in beautiful 3D animation, instructor resources with discussion topics, and more.
There is a history of cardiology, too.  Go to www.pbs.org/wnet/heart  Since they have instructor information on the site, and discuss how to use the material in the classroom, I don't believe you need to worry about copyright when used for your own viewing or for your students. (PBS does accept donations to keep up their good work.)

So sorry to find out that the videos I blogged about here are no longer available online!   They must now be purchased.  If you can afford them, or if you work for a school that can purchase them for all the students to view, they are worth it.
