Occasionally on the ECG Guru webpage, we like to do a review of books or other materials that we think would be of service to ECG instructors. Dr. Ken Grauer's ACLS 2013 Pocket Brain is one of those books. Followers of the ECG Guru webpage and FaceBook page have gotten to know Dr. Grauer as an exceptional resource for information on recognition AND treatment of arrhythmias. He serves as a valued Expert on our Ask the Expert page. For decades, he has been known as a teacher with a vast and thorough knowledge of his subject who is nevertheless able to explain so all can understand and remember the material. Instructors will learn new information from the ACLS 2013 Pocket Brain, and they will ALSO learn HOW TO PRESENT the complex ACLS curriculum to their students.
Dr. Grauer has updated this ACLS Pocket Brain. It closely adheres to ACLS guidelines, while providing real-world explanations and examples. This is for the instructor and student who want to know WHY we do what we do in resuscitation situations, and who are not satisfied with just memorizing a lot of "factoids". Dr. Grauer makes ACLS interesting for the beginner to the advanced practitioner. He adds "Beyond-the-Core" information, the "Bottom Line", and "Beyond the Textbook" comments. Instructors will learn valuable teaching "PEARLS" to help make ACLS more interesting and relevant for their students. Dr. Grauer is truly a "teachers' teacher", and your classes will improve after you read the ACLS 2013 PB.
